Nicolas Aubé-Kubel, born on May 10, 1996, is a Canadian ice hockey player. He currently plays as a right winger for the Washington Capitals in the NHL. Before joining the Capitals, he played for several other teams including the Philadelphia Flyers, Colorado Avalanche, and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Originally from Slave Lake, Alberta, Nicolas moved to Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, with his family when he was two years old. He started playing hockey and speed skating in local teams. Nicolas showed promise in midget hockey and was drafted by the Val-d’Or Foreurs in 2012.

His breakout season came in 2014–15 when he scored 80 points and led the Foreurs to the playoffs. After some time with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Flyers’ AHL affiliate, he made his NHL debut in 2018. Although he faced challenges, Nicolas became a regular in the Flyers’ lineup by December 2019.

However, his performance dipped in the 2021 season, leading to the Flyers placing him on waivers. He was then claimed by the Colorado Avalanche, with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2022. Nicolas’s journey in the NHL showcases perseverance and dedication to the sport.
